Insight

Dr Rupy Aujla created The Doctor’s Kitchen to share his passion for improving health through food. As his audience grew, he needed a vibrant, content-rich platform that could inspire people to cook, learn, and stay connected — while also showcasing his research-led approach, books, events and media work.

Our lifestyle website design captures the energy of The Doctor’s Kitchen brand and brings everything together in one clear hub: recipes, advice, community, and course content — built to keep users exploring (and coming back for more).

Web design

We designed a clean, minimalist interface that lets the food do the talking. Bold, full-screen photography (provided by the client) creates instant impact and gives users a tempting route into the recipe archive and wider content.

Because growing the audience was a priority, we gave clear prominence to community touchpoints — encouraging visitors to follow on social media, sign up, and become part of The Doctor’s Kitchen community. This balance of simplicity and warmth is exactly what great lifestyle website design should do: make content feel effortless, while gently nudging users towards deeper engagement.

Web development

As a working NHS doctor, Dr Aujla needed a CMS that would make managing a busy publishing schedule straightforward. We developed a flexible WordPress build with intuitive layout options, so the site can evolve as content grows.
The recipe section was customised to support easy browsing, with clear navigation and a helpful filtering system — making it simple for users to find the right inspiration fast, whether they’re searching by ingredient, style, or dietary preference.

To keep the site feeling current with minimal effort, we integrated an Instagram feed on the homepage. We also created a seamless experience between the website and Dr Aujla’s Teachable-hosted course, customising the look and feel so the brand remains consistent across platforms.
As always, performance mattered: we optimised the site carefully for speed, using best-practice build methods and compression to keep loading fast across devices.

Support and maintenance

Ahead of launch, we delivered practical WordPress training so Dr Aujla could confidently manage every aspect of the content. We also provide ongoing support and maintenance to keep the site secure, stable and performing at its best — long after go-live.
